Susan Dell

Susan Dell is co-founder and chairman of the board of the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. Susan and her husband Michael established the foundation in 1999 and dedicated it to accelerating opportunity for families and building pathways that change lives across the world. Over the past 25 years, Susan has overseen the strategic priorities and rapid growth of the foundation’s work globally.
To date, the foundation has committed $2.4 billion to non-profits and social enterprises focused on creating positive change and improving lives in the United States, India, South Africa, and most recently, East Africa and Israel. At any given time, the foundation has over 800 active projects going on across the world. In Texas alone, the foundation has invested $1 billion toward education, health, family economic stability, and homelessness, creating opportunities for families across the state.
A Dallas native, Susan is a successful fashion entrepreneur, founding three fashion labels including the highly acclaimed luxury brand, Phi. She is also an accomplished athlete who has successfully competed in elite marathons, triathlons, and cycling races, including the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. Susan and Michael are long-time Austin residents and raised four children here.
Susan is a past member of President Bush’s Council for Physical Fitness and Sports, a life trustee of the Dell Children’s Foundation board, and a former board member of the Cooper Institute in Dallas. In 2018, Susan was honored by Governor Abbott and inducted into the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame for her extensive efforts to help Texas families after Hurricane Harvey.
